About the event
This exhibition poignantly explores identity and nostalgia as Australian Filipino artists delve into their personal and cultural connections to the ocean. USAP (Ugnayang Sining at Pamana / Linkages of Arts and Heritage) Collective: Althier Alianza, Claire Pasion, Gale Dy, Lourdes Blinco, Mark Dy, Peter Francisco , Michelle Kenney and the visionary Ana Koch will take us beyond the south seas. Through diverse artistic expressions, from painting, photography, and mixed media, the artists invite you to embark on a nostalgic journey, revisiting cherished memories and exploring the enduring power of water.
By juxtaposing the serene beaches of Australia with the vibrant coasts of the Philippines, the exhibition highlights the cultural and historical
influences that shape our understanding of the sea. Each artwork reflects the artists' unique experiences, capturing the essence of their Australian and Filipino heritage.
