And off they go!
Adelaide's pioneering choral ensemble, the Adelaide Choral Ambassadors (ACA), lifted off for New Zealand this weekend after a triumphant send-off concert titled "Odyssey" at Elder Hall,Tardanya last 22 June 2024.
The young ensemble is set to compete on the world stage at the prestigious World Choir Games, often dubbed the "Olympics of choral music," which takes place in Auckland, New Zealand from July 15-20, 2024.
"This year, we are honored to represent Australia at the 13th World Choir Games," the ACA shared in a recent interview."Participation in the Games offers us an unparalleled opportunity to network, perform, and learn from choral experts from across the globe. We're excited to showcase our unique sound and carry the pride of Australia on the world stage."
Formed in late March 2023, the ACA is a community-based ensemble with a vibrant focus on performing Original Filipino/Pilipino Music (OPM). Their mission is to introduce the rich tapestry of Asian music to Australian audiences through captivating acapella performances that celebrate cultural distinctiveness.
The "Odyssey" concert served as a fitting send-off for the ACA, allowing them to showcase their talent and repertoire to a supportive Australian and Filipino audience. The concert's title likely hinted at the exciting journey the ACA is about to embark on, aiming to leave a lasting impression on the international choral stage at the World Choir Games.
Best of luck to the Adelaide Choral Ambassadors as they compete at the World Choir Games!
We'll be cheering them on from Adelaide!
